  • Stop immediately if the load tilts or shows instability.

Safety Tips & Best Practices – CantiDeck

  • Inspect Before Use

  • Check lifting points, handrails, gates, and fixings for wear or defects.

  • Verify all bolts are tight and screw jacks are in place before installation.

  • Use Correct Lifting Gear

  • Only use certified four-leg chains rated for the platform’s WLL.

  • Do not use damaged, kinked, or untested lifting gear.

  • Communication During Lifting

  • Slingers and banksmen must remain in constant communication via radios or agreed hand signals.

  • One designated signaller must give instructions to the crane operator.

  • Keep Clear During Lifting

  • Never stand under or close to the load while it is being lifted or lowered.

  • Use taglines to control swing and prevent uncontrolled movement.

  • Maintain exclusion zones at both ground level and the installation floor.

  • Securing After Placement

  • Ensure legs are tied to the ceiling and screw jacks tightened.

  • Check that the deck is level, plumb, and secure before releasing the chains.

  • Only trained operatives wearing harnesses may complete installation inside the building.
