Lifting & Installation Procedure – Boat Skip

  • Inspect skip and accessories
    – Check bale arm, skip body, and lifting points for damage or debris.
    – Ensure chains, hooks, and shackles are in good condition and rated correctly.

  • Attach correct drop chains
    – Use the right size chains and connect to designated lifting points.
    – Secure unused legs to the master ring.

  • Test lift for balance
    – Lift the skip slightly to check chain tension and load balance.
    – Adjust if uneven before continuing.

  • Lift and move carefully
    – Use tag lines to control swing.
    – Keep personnel clear of the load and travel path.

  • Tip safely and lower
    – Never stand close while tipping.
    – Use the dog bone or proper release system, and ensure the landing area is clear.
